For the past seven years, Doug Coe has been the full-time Executive Director of RiverArts and has overseen the expansion of our organization’s activities in breadth and depth.
Success brings new opportunities, and a need to expand our administrative staff. To do this in a fiscally responsible manner, RiverArts is proud to adopt a two-person management structure with our longtime Executive Director Doug Coe becoming our part-time Artistic Director and Josh Suniewick as our part-time Managing Director. Doug will continue to select, produce, and oversee our artistic endeavors including the Studio and Music Tours, the chamber music concerts, artist conversations, and our music program. Josh will lead all marketing, financial, and fundraising operations. He began his tenure in May 2020.
Josh brings to RiverArts a strong background in both finance and the arts. Doug observed, “Josh effortlessly grasps the scope of RiverArts and has already become a perfect management partner. We look forward to working together with the Board of Trustees to find new ways of connecting with the Rivertowns during the pandemic.” Josh remarked, “Through his leadership and vision, Doug has developed great arts programming for our communities and I very much look forward to helping him continue to do so.”

About Josh Suniewick
Josh began working with RiverArts in May 2020. He began his career in the arts over 20 years ago in film editing and post-production at Colorlab. He opened the company’s satellite office in New York and developed relationships with student and independent film makers. After establishing this business, he went on to pursue opportunities in corporate finance, first at The Bank of New York and then at Brown Brothers Harriman where he worked in the bank’s Media Banking division. He then joined a real estate private equity fund as underwriter and portfolio manager.
Josh is a life-long musician and artist. He began playing violin at a very young age, developing an interest in stringed instruments. He now plays guitar and an occasional gig on bass with his rock band from college. He attended Wesleyan University where he majored in studio art, with a focus on sculpture. A father of three, he has devoted the last seven years to raising his kids. With his diverse background in arts, business development and juggling the multi-faceted needs of his family, he is looking forward to helping RiverArts extend its programming and further support the community through the arts.
