Paired with unique audio recordings, each palace encapsulates memories inspired by Bint-Kadi's poignant childhood as a first-generation Palestinian-Afro-Caribbean American and a daughter of refugees.

The third installment in the new Channels music concert series features Steph Davis, marimbist, arranger, composer, Africana studies scholar, and cultural activist whose work engages people, traditions, and technologies of the African diaspora as means for uncovering truthful historiographies, finding creative self-actualization, and reaching for collective liberation.

Led by Kofi Donkor, Sankofa Drum Circle will take students on a journey through the rhythmic and oral tradition of West African drumming and culture. Sankofa means “going back to the roots” in the Twi language from Ghana. The spirit of Sankofa, and this class, is to promote personal and community awareness through this art form steeped in West African cultural values and tradition.
