RiverArts will present an evening of music celebrating great American composers: Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, Charles Ives, Gian Carlo Menotti, and (a RiverArts 2018 commission) David Macdonald. All these composers lived a significant portion of their lives in the Lower Hudson Valley: Ives lived in Hartsdale, Menotti and Barber shared a home in Mount Kisco from 1943-1970, Copland lived in Cortland Manor from 1960 until his death in 1990 and contemporary composer David Macdonald continues to live in Pleasantville, NY.
