Illness\, death\, upheaval of most kinds necessitates an anchor. When we feel this way\, some of us look to nature. \n\n“The shore is an ancient world\, for as long as there has been an earth and sea there has been this place of the meeting of land and water. Yet it is a world that keeps alive the sense of continuing creation and of the relentless drive of life. Each time that I enter it\, I gain some new awareness of its beauty and its deeper meanings\, sensing that intricate fabric of life by which one creature is linked with another\, and each with its surroundings.” Rachel Carson \n\nIn this conversation we will explore the liminal space of change and connection as we dive into the works of artists Susan Richman and Rachel Weatherford Whitlow. Class limited to 30 people so book in advance. If you register and can’t make it\, please email jriesman@riverarts.org \nTime: 7:30-9:30pm \n			\n				Register for Drink & Draw here\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Drink & Draw is a modern twist on the classic artistic practice of life drawing. Artists of all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome\, especially those that have always wanted to try their hand.  \nIn this non-instructional event\, we aim to create a relaxing\, social and inclusive environment for the community to come together for a fun night of drawing.  After some mingling with fellow guests\, participants will have an opportunity to capture the human body in poses of different lengths\, with breaks for refreshments in between.   \nThere’s wine\, crackers\, cheese and cookies to enjoy\, and our host curates a playlist to keep your energy flowing.  The evening lasts about 2 hours\, and participants leave with a collection of their new works… and maybe some new friends too. \nRiverArts is proud to be able to provide this unique opportunity right here in our Rivertowns\, an opportunity which is often only accessible to art students or by traveling into New York City\, with a significant investment of time and tuition.
