Inspired by the multidirectional flow of rivers and estuaries\, Flow Lines represents an interconnection of multiple creative disciplines. \nThis immersive experience synthesizes responses to various original source materials\, with each response building upon the last. Flow Lines invites the audience to explore these variations as a community\, while reflecting on their own individual responses. A talk-back with the artists will follow the performance. \nThe Variations: \n\nPhase 1 – Gathering and viewing sculptures by Malcolm Macdougall\, on display outside of the Quonset Hut.\nPhase 2 – Inside the Quonset Hut\, we convene with artists Bruce Robbins and Jon Hatch.\nPhase 3 – The main presentation will begin at sunset in the Hut\, featuring:\n\nOriginal electronic music by Jon Hatch\nVisual works by BC Robbins\n\n\nPhase 4 – Exploration of darkness.\nPhase 5 – Talkback after performance with artists.\n\n\nAbout the Artists \n \nJon Hatch \nJon is a versatile composer and musician who navigates between the worlds of media composition and live performance. With a passion for crafting immersive sonic experiences\, Jon specializes in composing music for film\, television\, and video games\, infusing his pieces with a unique blend of analog synthesizers\, experimental modular synths\, tape loops\, and traditional orchestral instruments. As a performing artist\, Jon captures audiences with his diverse range of performances\, from ethereal ambient soundscapes to daring and innovative sonic landscapes\, all while maintaining a captivating sense of melody. www.jonhatchmusic.com \nBruce Robbins \nBC Robbins is a multimedia artist who runs a studio in Dobbs Ferry\, NY. His creations span various art forms\, including painting\, photography\, performance\, sculpture\, and video\, delving into themes such as the passing of time and introspection. Alongside a deep appreciation for both visual and performing arts\, he has embraced puppetry as a means to intertwine his diverse passions. For over three decades\, Mr. Robbins has also been an arts educator at The Masters School. In one of his favorite activities\, he incorporates puppetry into an interdisciplinary project with fellow faculty members and students. The yearly puppet opera with the fifth-grade students enriches the learning experience through the arts. bcrobbins.com \nMalcolm MacDougall \nMalcolm endeavors for his sculptures to enter into a dialogue with the natural landscape. He concentrates on studying materials and their properties in relationship to the natural versus man-made environs. Referring to his sculptures as landscape “chapter objects\,” they allude to other material experiences\, as a chapter in a story may refer to others\, helping to unite a holistic meaning between the natural and fabricated\, real and abstract\, concrete and metaphorical. These objects are conduits to broader thoughts and experiences. As a symbol of both the natural and man-made constructs around us\, his sculptures create an awareness of industrial materials\, with those which are invented blurred against those which are natural\, imploring the viewer to appreciate the aesthetic qualities of all.
