SUMMARY:Virtual Salon Sundays - Artist Studio Tour with Kristin Javier
DESCRIPTION:Virtual Salon Sundays \n \n Register for Event\n \n \n \n \n \n Sunday\, June 13th   \n 3:00-4:00 pm Livestream on RiverArts Instagram \nFREE EVENT \nRiverArts’ now offers a virtual spin on this historic tradition and are featuring artists on various Sundays from 3 pm to 4 pm.  Each artist will live-stream a brief studio tour and take questions from the audience in the last ten minutes. This is a great opportunity to gain insights in to their creative process\, learn about techniques in a variety of media and participate in a live Q&A with artists.  \nKristin Javier is a former Teacher and Translator\, and an improbable Mosaic Artist. What began as an exploration of her Mediterranean heritage has become a journey by which to express profound emotion. Initially self-taught\, she has grown as an artist through some study of Classical Roman/Byzantine and Modern Mosaic techniques. She hand-cuts all materials faithful to the ancient tradition\, incorporating glass\, stone\, metal\, ceramic\, reclaimed materials. Her mosaics are born from memory and develop through a meditative and painstaking process over weeks or months. She is grateful for this creative path and the many teachers she has encountered along the way.
