This concert will feature the piano duo team of Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem. A highlight of this concert will be a performance of Brahm’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor\, Op. 15\, arranged by Brahms for piano duo. After intermission\, Aebersold and Neiweem will take us on a tour Fin de Siècle Paris with works by Carrier\, Stravinsky and Ravel.  They will perform Ravel’s breathtaking Rapsodie Espagnole\, two scenes from Stravinsky’s Petroushka\, and Chabrier’s Bouree Fantesque all arranged by their respective composers for four hands. \n\n\nAt the conclusion of Sunday afternoon’s music\, the Cropsey Foundation will host a gala reception (included in the ticket price). Guests are invited to enjoy the works of Hudson River School painter\, Jasper Cropsey in the gallery. In addition to the permanent collection on display\, the Newington-Cropsey Foundation will have Cropsey’s 1896 painting\, Autumn in the Highlands of the Hudson on view.  This work was painted by Cropsey after he moved to Hastings-on-Hudson in his studio at Ever Rest.  This will be the first time the Foundation has displayed this painting to the public. \n\n\n\n\n\nTickets to the Sunday concert are priced at $100 each. SUMMARY:Ballet Hispánico
DESCRIPTION:RiverArts and Tarrytown Music Hall Presents Ballet Hispánico\n \n \n \n \n \n Saturday\, October 1\, 2022\n7:30 PM\nTarrytown Music Hall\nTarrytown\, NY\n \n Purchase Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\nLINEA RECTA by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa from Ballet Hispanico on Vimeo.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n RiverArts welcomes you to join us for a night of Latinx dance celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month and featuring Ballet Hispánico. Premium ticket holders will enjoy the best seats in the house as well as an After-Party where you will enjoy light refreshments and salsa dancing with the dancers from Ballet Hispánico right after the concert. \nNational Medal of Arts recipient Tina Ramirez founded Ballet Hispánico in 1970\, at the height of the post-war civil rights movements. From its inception Ballet Hispánico focused on providing a haven for Black and Brown Latinx youth and families seeking artistic place and cultural sanctuary. By providing the space for Latinx dance and dancers to flourish\, Ballet Hispánico uplifted marginalized emerging and working artists\, which combined with the training\, authenticity of voice\, and power of representation\, fueled the organization’s roots and trajectory. In 2009\, Ballet Hispánico welcomed Eduardo Vilaro as its Artistic Director\, ushering in a new era by inserting fresh energy to the company’s founding values and leading Ballet Hispánico into an artistically vibrant future. Today\, Ballet Hispánico’s New York City headquarters house a School of Dance and state-of-the-art dance studios for its programs and the arts community. From its grassroots origins as a dance school and community-based performing arts troupe\, for fifty years Ballet Hispánico has stood as a catalyst for social change. \nBallet Hispánico provides the physical home and cultural heart for Latinx dance in the United States. Ballet Hispánico has developed a robust public presence across its three main programs: its Company\, School of Dance\, and Community Arts Partnerships. \nThrough its exemplary artistry\, distinguished training program\, and deep-rooted community engagement efforts Ballet Hispánico champions and amplifies underrepresented voices in the field. For fifty years Ballet Hispánico has provided a place of honor for the omitted\, overlooked\, and oppressed. As it looks to the next fifty years and beyond\, Ballet Hispánico seeks to empower\, and give agency to\, the Latinx experience and those individuals within it. \n“both earthy and classically elegant” – New York Times \n“smashingly theatrical” – Chicago Sun Times \n“a cutting edge crowd pleaser” – Washington Post \n“Ballet Hispánico delivers spirited fun.” – The Boston Globe \n“Empowering voices the world needs to hear.” – Mackenzie Scott \n“One of America’s Cultural Treasures.” – Ford Foundation \nDon’t miss this opportunity to see this internationally-renowned dance company perform three of their signature pieces in the heart of the Rivertowns. \n \n Purchase Tickets

In my creative pursuits\, I’ve always found myself split between the two disciplines of photography and mixed media. My photographic images reflect the light\, forms\, and textures of world around me.  They have been my eye looking outward. My mixed media work\, on the other hand\, has been my eye looking inward\, a means of visual storytelling\, and a vehicle for expressing my personal philosophy. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Artists who are interested in participating in Salon Sundays 2022:\n \n Register Here\n \n \n \n \n \n Salon Sundays | In-studio\nExplore Art in the Rivertowns this Spring with RiverArts’ Salon Sundays. Salon Sundays invite visitors to tour local artists’ studios and gain an inside view of their work and inspiration. An exciting opportunity to gain insights into the creative process\, learn about techniques in a variety of media and interact with artists here in the Rivertowns community. \nIn April\, May and June\, Salon Sundays will be in-person. \nSalon Sundays are inspired by the French salons founded in the 18th century as a means for new and emerging artists to gather and show their works in large numbers. Artists filled the walls\, floor to ceiling\, exhibiting anything and everything for the public and each other. Salons drew intellectuals\, writers\, poets\, sculptors\, painters\, printmakers\, supporters\, and those interested in engaging with the creative community. \n“We strongly encourage anyone attending a Salon Sunday to come with their curiosity peaked\, ask questions\, and learn who’s who in the local art community. It’s powerful to interact with artists in their space. We’re hoping this event will increase community involvement and provide a chance to meet one-on-one with area artists and experience art up close.” Jeff Dietz\, Producer\, Salon Sundays. \n \n \n \n \n \n To ensure the safety of our audience and artists\, proof of vaccination and masks are required for the in-person events. \nFOR MORE INFORMATION EMAIL:\nJeff Dietz\, Salon Sundays Producer\,  SalonSundays@riverarts.org \n \n \n \n \n \n #SalonSundays #MaryFennell
