Class limited to 30 people so book in advance. If you register and can’t make it\, please email jriesman@riverarts.org \nTime: 7:30-9:30pm \n			\n				Register for Drink & Draw here\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Drink & Draw is a modern twist on the classic artistic practice of life drawing. Artists of all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome\, especially those that have always wanted to try their hand.  \nIn this non-instructional event\, we aim to create a relaxing\, social and inclusive environment for the community to come together for a fun night of drawing.  After some mingling with fellow guests\, participants will have an opportunity to capture the human body in poses of different lengths\, with breaks for refreshments in between.   \nThere’s wine\, crackers\, cheese and cookies to enjoy\, and our host curates a playlist to keep your energy flowing.  The evening lasts about 2 hours\, and participants leave with a collection of their new works… and maybe some new friends too. \nRiverArts is proud to be able to provide this unique opportunity right here in our Rivertowns\, an opportunity which is often only accessible to art students or by traveling into New York City\, with a significant investment of time and tuition. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a night of friends\, fun\, and jazz to support the arts!\nHonoring Maxine ShermanProducer & Artistic Director of Dance\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Gather with friends and neighbors to celebrate the power of the arts on the eve of International Jazz Day! \nEnjoy a wine and beer reception and artful silent auction with live music from Joel Arnow & Friends. Bring your dancing shoes\, raise a glass\, and spend an evening reveling in creativity and community. \nAll proceeds benefit RiverArts’ artistic and educational programs including free community-wide Music and Studio Tours\, performances in dance\, music\, and theater\, and children’s music and art education. \n			\n				Purchase Tickets\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				About Our Honoree\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Maxine has dedicated her time and talents to RiverArts for over 2 decades\, serving on the Board and as Board President from 2004 to 2008\, and producing an annual dance concert at RiverArts since 2005. She has brought world-renowned dance companies to the Rivertowns community\, including Paul Taylor Dance Company\, Ballet Hispanico\, Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE\, Trisha Brown\, DecaDance\, Caleb Teicher\, and more. She was also one of the featured dancers and choreographers in RiverArts’ production of Braiding\, which was awarded an NEA grant.  \nMaxine began dancing as a child in Pittsburgh before moving to NYC to become a principal dancer in the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Martha Graham Dance Company. She has been Associate Professor of Dance at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance\, North Carolina School of the Arts\, NYU School of Education\, and Southern Methodist University. Maxine has choreographed for MAXIMUM Dance\, the Ailey School\, American Dance Festivals\, Point Park College\, the Masters School\, and Hudson River Museum\, and is a recipient of the 50/50 Choreographic Artists’ Award for ArtsWestchester. With certifications in Pilates\, Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic\,® she is the founder of E-Tone Studio\, Pinecrest Studio LLC\, and GratefulPilates.com. Maxine has a BA in Body Therapies from NYU and an MFA in Performing Arts Studies from Sarah Lawrence College. Since moving to Hastings-on-Hudson over 20 years ago\, Maxine has danced as a guest artist with Battleworks Dance Company\, Rioult Dance NY\, Heidi Latsky Dance\, and Monica Bill Barnes\, in addition to her work with RiverArts. \n			\n				Purchase Tickets
