Claudia Jill Stoltman is a classically trained dancer, choreographer, visual artist, educator and yoga teacher. A graduate of Brown University with a BA in Art and the recipient of the Susan Culver Rosenberg Award for Excellence in Academics and Dance, she has trained with Melissa Hayden and some of the finest teachers in the Balanchine tradition, as well as American Ballet Theatre. Her performance credits include the repertoire of Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Paul Taylor and Carolyn Adams, as well as roles from major classical ballets. She has an MA in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Ms. Stoltman has performed as a featured soloist and presented her choreography at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Lincoln Center and Portland Ballet, where she premieredJoyeux, a classical quartet to music by Tomaso Albinoni. Additional works include Simple Gifts, premiered at Jacob’s Pillow’s Sixty Fifth Anniversary Season, Imminent Voices,based on Robert Redford’s The Horse Whisperer, and Journeys, a work with Shakespearean imagery, presented at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

She has presented arts in education residencies in dance and related disciplines through the Gifted and Talented Development Center and Arts Westchester.

Additional teaching, performing and choreography credits include Brown University, Greenwich Academy, The Masters School and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Public service work includes consulting for the education departments of New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation and Lake Placid Center for the Arts. In 2012, she participated in The Arts and Passion Driven Learning with Yo Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project at Harvard University.

Her work has been exhibited in New York and New England galleries, and she is a published UNICEF artist. Presently, she is writing and illustrating a children’s ballet story, teaching, performing and presenting classically based programs in the arts.
