Ariella Gastel | Board Member
Ariella Gastel is the Vice President for Marketing and Business Development at Greyston Bakery. A visionary strategist, she has consistently led transformational programs that surpass strategic and financial goals. Adept at inspiring cross functional and multicultural teams, she supports Greyston’s innovative Open Hiring Ô model where anyone, regardless of background or work history, can find employment and the resources they need to succeed in the workplace and thrive in their community. Ariella’s leadership in marketing, communications and business development build on and promote Greyston’s progressive business model and the production of 30,000 pounds of brownies a day.
With over 20 years of experience leading global teams in the areas of health and nutrition, food safety, sustainable agriculture and food innovation, she has developed new products, markets and programs for the food, beverage and supplement industries while working for DuPont, Danisco, Cultor and Pfizer Food Science. A graduate of Kalamazoo College and Thunderbird School of Global Management, she also studied in Bogota, Colombia, and is proficient in Spanish.
Ariella provides stress reduction with her Newfoundland as a certified therapy dog, is a mentor for Endeavor, sings with the Hudson Valley Singers, and is a former AYSO coach and Girl Scout leader. She is married to an amateur musician and has two arts loving kids in the Hastings schools who enjoy RiverArts educational programs.
